Simon Pegg (born Simon John Pegg on 14 February 1970; AKA The Fresh Pegg) is an English stand-up comedian, writer and film and television actor. He portrayed Tim Bisley in Spaced, the eponymous Shaun in Shaun of the Dead, and Nicholas Angel in Hot Fuzz. Much of his major work has been in collaboration with some combination of Nick Frost, Jessica Hynes and Edgar Wright.
Biography[]
Pegg was hand-reared in Gloucester, Gloucestershire to a jazz musician/keyboard salesman father. He attended Stratford Upon Avon College to study English Lit and Performance Studies. Pegg later studied drama at the University of Bristol and wrote his thesis, "A Marxist overview of popular Seventies cinema and hegemonic discourses".[1]
Pegg married Maureen McCann on 23 July, 2005 in Glasgow. Nick Frost was the best man and Apple Martin, daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin was the flower girl. Pegg is also Apple's godfather. Simon Pegg's mother, father and sister briefly appeared in Spaced.
